Mecha Robot - Chubu 01

Here's a gorgeous vintage mecha robot model designed by Kazushi Kobayashi. It is supposed to be from an alternate 1957 world where robots are the primary mode of transportation. Think FLCL or Akira. It is currently sitting at Harajuku's TOKYO CULTUART. And if you really want to own one, there is a DIY kit available for ¥28000, or about $300 USD.

He's an animation/illustration artist who has done work for the cartoon network, WB, Penguin Books... etc. He's known for his cute monsters, crabby aliens, impatient balrogs and space marines. Anyway I came across him and his most recent work for KUR - a danish organic superfood company. Check it out.
